Faithful Readers (if there are any of you),
Having no idea how many of you there are, I’ve decided to discontinue this blog – “The Blogging Reindeer”. It’s been over ten years now since I started this blog (my first entry from September 2014 is captioned below). It was a place where I could review concerts, post repertoire lists of my favorite symphonic, choral, etc. works, offer my philosophical thoughts (Music as Language), and provide on a monthly basis, musical and theatrical events in the Pittsburgh area.
As I revisit the many articles I posted, a strong sense of melancholy arises – articles on the passing of Stephen Paulus, David Stock and Robert Page – still bring such a sense of loss and tears to my eyes. But maintaining this blog is a costly endeavor, and if no one is reading it, what’s the point? I will still compose my thoughts and feelings into articles, perhaps included on my Facebook page, or sent to the Post-Gazette. But this will be my last entry after 12 years for “The Blogging Reindeer” It likely has not meant nearly as much to anyone else, as it did to me – a private journal posted publicly.
Be safe and continue to enjoy ALL TYPES OF MUSIC,
Always yours,
Glenn L. Rudolph
